Project Title: Plant Survival Grade: Third Name: Lisa Buck
Project Idea: Students will plant seeds in different types of soil, different amounts of water and expose to different amounts of sunlight to see which conditions a plant grow best in.
Driving Question: What type of environment does a plant need in order to grow and survive?
Content: Science 3.L.2.2 Explain how environmental conditions determine how well a plant grows. 3.L.2.4 Explain how the basic properties (textures and capacity) to hold water and components(sand, clay and humus) of soil determine the ability of soil to support the growth and survival of many plants.
Major Student Products: Students will plant seeds and observe which type of environment had the best success for survival. They will track the progress of each plant in a daily log. Upon completion, the students will report out what they observed to the class.
